When Sable inherits her grandmother’s old diner, she expects grease stains, broken appliances, and a steady stream of lonely regulars. What she doesn’t expect is to find herself at the center of something stranger- something that doesn’t belong in the kitchen, or anywhere else in the waking world.
Welcome to The Dented Kettle, a story-driven visual novel that blends cozy diner life with unsettling mystery and slow-burn romance. You play as Sable, a quiet but determined woman who’s got little more than a set of keys, a rusty grill, and a dream of keeping her grandmother’s legacy alive. The place has seen better days, and so has Sable. Together, they might just make it work.
Between morning coffee rushes and late-night repairs, you’ll manage your time, upgrade the diner, and choose how Sable grows her relationships- with new friends, curious strangers, or a certain someone who keeps showing up after dark.
But as the days go on, and the lights flicker a little too often, you’ll start to notice things. Things that shouldn’t be there. Things that whisper when no one else is around. The diner has a past- and it’s not ready to stay buried.
Will you rebuild what’s been lost- while uncovering truths that were meant to stay hidden?

Right now, I’m focused on refining the core of the game; getting all the foundational mechanics and locations in place. While early builds include glimpses of the romantic tone and character dynamics, future updates will dive deeper into relationship routes and mature themes, while also continuing to expand the main story.

Hi! I have a few specific suggestions that might make the game much more enjoyable.
* Please fix the nudity glitch. Sometimes Sable goes entirely nude in public and the game still thinks she's dressed. This ruins the gameplay as public nudity should be a reward rather than a bug (like an unlockable option with more scenes or something).
* I think a visual indicator for lewdness (aka "corruption") should be the top priority, since it gamifies lewd acts even more and gives us short term goals.
* The flashing lights during climax are too annoying, they could be replaced by hearts melting or something. At the very least, please add an option to disable flashing animations in the settings.
* If I want to be lewder, I need to do both the Wink AND the gloryhole place, and it's too much effort. Adding a gloryhole to the Wink would make things easier. This would require to add a restroom to the Wink and having shorter shifts where you can squeeze bathroom breaks into.* Bathroom breaks also open up the potential for private talk with other waitresses like Snaps, that could further unlock events or lewdness level-ups.
* Sabre shouldn't get stressed at work so much after reaching a certain level of lewdness, since she'd enjoy the extra attention from the patrons.
* If Sable is at 100% aroused, she should be able to take a bathroom break and relieve herself in the restroom, or if lewd enough, give a free service to a patron or at least offer the service.
* Adding a (locked) dialogue option with the Wink manager to request the stage or private rooms would make the game more interesting, even if you add a message that the feature is not implemented yet.
* Even better: Adding an option to pay to have sex with the boss or any of the other girls in the place (e.g. Snaps). A $500 premium for the boss herself and $250 for the other girls would be nice.
* Idea for advancing into lewdness: Lewdness courses by a professional counselor or something. This has the potential of adding kink features like rope play, BDSM, and stuff - also unlocking fetish items at the sex shop. The potential is limitless! :D
* Also: Pole dancing lessons at the gym! These are already a thing in my city and are provided for housewives.
* The advancement of physical training is too slow. Changing it to 1 or 2% per session would be better IMO.
* Can you separate the $3,000 Kettle upgrade from the final event? If the final event is merely unlocked, there's no "endgame regret" as we can postpone that indefinitely and keep playing without wondering what's left.

I'll try and answer all your concerns, I hope I didn't miss anything!
Lewdness indicator: Actually, the game had a lewdness bar until I split lewdness into both arousal and lewdness, and I co-opted the lewdness bar for arousal instead. I'll see about bringing it back in a new way...
The second pass on the Wink: Once I drop the exploration and subsequent combat update, I am circling back to do a polish pass on the early locations and features. I hope to implement many similar ideas to what you're thinking the Wink should be. I definitely get you on the nudity too; I thought it'd be something I'd circle back to faster, but as is, letting Sable wander around naked with zero reaction is jarring. I’m looking into patching that specific glitch so she stays clothed until I have the proper "public nudity" reaction events coded in.
Regarding stress at The Wink: Even if Sable loves the attention, 6 hours of waitressing in heels is still... 6 hours of waitressing in heels. She gets tired! I kept the stress mechanics in because if I remove them, players will just 24/7 grind the job without stopping. It’s a gameplay balance thing, gotta force you to go home eventually!
The Gym: It feels slow on purpose right now. I didn't want to make it easy and have to nerf it later. Right now with the gym being the only source of athletics XP, it does feel tedious. I hope that it smooths out naturally in the future with more ways to gain athletics XP, but I'll keep an eye on buffing it too. The upcoming exploration update already adds more ways to get athletics XP, and I have further plans for physical activities in further updates that generate athletics XP. (Swimming at the beach, anyone?)
The Kettle: The $3,000 upgrade isn't the "End of the Game." (I mean it is, currently!, but:) In my mind, it’s basically the "End of the Tutorial." It feels weird now as a standalone cliffhanger, but I'm hoping it makes perfect sense once the content that follows it is implemented.
The White Flash: (I'm showing my age here!) Okay, you caught me. I grew up on (and still mostly play) 90s VNs where every climax looked like a supernova. I didn't realize how dated/annoying that was until you pointed it out! I’m going to replace the flashbang with something much cooler (and easier on the eyes).
The Job Offer: I am seriously flattered that you’d want to jump into the code mines with me. That means a lot. For right now, though, I’m keeping this a solo hobby project.

You should be able to start the glory hole storyline once you get a few hundred lewdness, arousal helps you unlock it at a lower lewdness though.

I don’t have a set date yet since I usually like to get about halfway through the next update before making the last one free. The next patch is shaping up to be a big one, so it might take a little longer than usual.
Another idea I just had was maybe if we drink enought while Horny, Sable will have dreams of having sex with someone she is close too, or whoever she talked too last.

I use Stable Diffusion to make the art, and everything else is pretty much by hand.
Just asking, in the future, at the strip club, will there be holiday events where the outfits will be thematic, like for example at Easter, the main performer wearing a bunnysuit? (our reverse bunnysuit with heart pasties 👀)

No laptop so far, I have so many plans for that it's probably going to be a whole update in itself.
As for the next public version, I don't have a definite release date yet, sorry! I usually try and and get a significant amount of work done on the next version before I release the previous version to everyone, and I'm just getting started on v0.15.

There's ~13 different scenes with a bunch of variants within most of them. I have an in-game guide on my to-do, but there's just so many other things I want to work on. As far as finding what's currently in the game; they're mostly unlocked at repeated visits to the glory hole. There's a couple scenes related to the sex shop at the mall, and one from finishing the diner upgrades.
How do you get the sex shop scenes? I can't figure out how to get anything but the generic conversations with the owner.
After you've talked to her a few times, you can find her in the back room of the sex shop at certain times of day.

It would be cool if clothing had something like a giving stats buffs/unlocking scenes/unlocking jobs
example having a maid dress at diner work
I thought about the stat buffs when I was putting clothes in, but I didn't want to force people to wear clothes they didn't like just to get the stat bonuses. I hate it when I have to wear something ugly in a game just because it has good stats, you know? I'm toying around with the idea of adding modifiers to clothes though so people can upgrade the clothes they want better stats on.
Putting some scenes or something like that behind particular outfits could be pretty cool though, just a few hidden little things for some choice outfits.
I was more like thinking about job/situation based clohting not like a multi purpose clohting that you can bring everywere and is only used for its stats buffs
for instance diner job will have maid,just apron with/without panties,skimpy outfit(these are just ones that I thought randomly) and also theses clohtings will have their own scenes

Definitely would like to do some lewder scenes in the diner, when Sable is dressed in more skimpy outfits. Have patrons comment on it and such, with further scenes from there. I have some ideas for the maid outfit too, but that'll be another job type that comes later.

I have some question/concern regarding the latest version : are the person in the gloryhole scene supposed to be futa? Looking at the game description, I assume it' a "yes". I'm sad to report they does look way more more than masculine (I assume it's due to how the image are generated, but hiding the body would definitively help preserving the futa fantasy).
Side question : will all (romancable) character in the game be futa ? or will there be some yuri romance too ?

To clarify: yes, all characters in the game are either futa or female; there are no male characters. The person in the gloryhole scenes is intended to be futa.
As for your second question: yes, there will be yuri romance content as well! While female x futa characters are the main focus, I definitely want to offer a variety of relationship dynamics, including scenes and routes that lean more into traditional girl-girl intimacy.

Sure! To access the bathroom scenes, go to the park bathroom at night. For the bedroom scenes, you’ll need to buy the dildo from the sex shop and use it in the bedroom.
Bathroom scenes unlock based on your lewdness stat - you’ll need progressively higher lewdness to see more. The fastest way to raise it is by working the night waitressing job and choosing to flirt often.
I may not communicate very well but I will try. The version I am playing is 0.11.04 but I don't see any toilet options. My lust is also over 100%. Did I miss something?

How can I met Maple?
Maple shows up at the end of the current restaurant storyline when you do the first tier of renovations with Nim, which is after completing all the upgrades. That's currently the only content with Maple. I plan on adding the Culinary Institute as a map location and some real interaction with Maple soon!
The latest downloaded version seems to not move to the 1 star restaurant part like the previous version did, also the lap dance scene seem to not trigger, probably also part of moving to 1 star, I wonder what is stopping that.
For the 1 star transition, were you using an existing save? I changed around some of the flags for the restaurant upgrade and may have broken something there. It works on a fresh game for me.
As for the lap dance scene, I tested that out and it still seems to work, but the trigger chance is just ridiculously low. I'll bump that up for the next version.

Alright, I did start a new save, I did though pass on the hand holding choice, the only difference from my earlier play, I have max cooking and customer happiness at this point and all the upgrades. Its funny on the lapdance cause I have 396 lewdness atm and it has not happened yet about 150 days in.
Yeah I bumped the chance up by 50x when I was testing the lap dance here and it still took a few tries. Not sure why I made it so low- whoops. I definitely need to find a better way to trigger it.
